'' it is perfectly okay to admit you are not okay''
Swept under societal's rug like the dust after a summer's breeze, all too easily is the idea of mental health forgotten. After recently dealing with the death of my father, I have noticed the hoax compassion has become. I received many heartfelt messages & condolences, yet when i reached a low point - suddenly, no one was around to reach out a hand to me. It is far easier to simply type out a message or post a comment than it is to emotionally deal with someone who is not okay, thus like myself, those who are not okay have begun to hid within themselves. Shunned and ashamed, we tend to slip deeper and deeper into what seems an unwinnable battle - with no army to help. Stereotypical views of what mental disorders are have blinded those who know not what they truly entail - silently suffering to the extent where most choose to take their own lives. Far too often are eyes turned blind, cries for help left unheard and farewell notes written. Make a difference. Be kind to every person you meet, for you know not what the battle they are facing. Care a little more.
Mental Health is so damn important.
For those who are struggling with battles which seem far too familiar to most, keep fighting, take a day for yourself, find your ''hobbit hole'' whether it be a place or a person, talk to that doctor or therapist, read an inspiring book, - just do not give up, okay? Not giving up is half the battle won. Things will get better.
